I recently moved to Colorado from Georgia. The humidity difference is basically like the difference between a freeze-dried mango and a really ripe fresh one. The dryness of Colorado had really affected my hair. The last time I used this hair mask, my kids were newborns and my hormones were depleting my hair and scalp of all moisture. Now those newborns are 10 and 12 years old and have changed a lot over the years. What hasn't changed is this tried and true recipe for when you are in need of a DIY ultra-conditioning hair mask.
Let's get goopy together and hydrate our locks and scalps!
INGREDIENTS:
One Avocado
One Egg Yolk
One Tbsp. Manuka Honey (or other honey you have on hand)
DIRECTIONS:
Slice, pit, and scoop the avocado into a shallow bowl and mash thoroughly
Place egg yolk in a bowl and whisk into a more solid froth
Add the honey and mashed avocado to the egg yolk froth
Apply to towel-dried hair from the root to the tip and cover with a plastic shower cap
Wait for 20 minutes
Shampoo and condition as usual
**Save that egg white for this DIY face mask for combination skin that tightens pores and nourishes.
